In this course the emphasis is on discussion and theories in international and comparative education defined as the systematic study of similarities and differences in education systems across regions, countries, and cultures. Implications of globalization for comparative education will be highlighted.

The course consists of a series of seminars. In seminars the students discuss the selected themes of the course using both a critical/analytical framework and by engaging with the speakers and assigned course materials, exploring each theme in a wide theoretical and practical context.
